The one labeled "eval" gives the number of annual frost days for the downscaled data,
The one labeled "comp" gives the difference between the downscaled dataset and the number of frost days in the gridded observational dataset.
From this plot you see that the downscaled data has fewer annual frost days than the Maurer observed datasets over most of the Great Plains by 5 to 10 days, and more frost days in the interior West. Comparing to the above plot you can assess whether this discrepancy is a significant effect for your area.
If you want to download the data that underlies the plot, click on the HTTP download link. See our Visualization Hints page for ways to plot and view netCDF data.
